Posted on: February 6th, 2011 by Matt No Comments

In one of the hottest environments in the world, keeping ice cream cool and frozen is a very difficult task. A leading manufacturer of ice cream in Dubai uses a network of Dickson data loggers to monitor this task. The goal is to monitor temperatures and deliver sweet frozen treats across the Middle East.sm325 front 730 Keeping the Ice in Ice Cream

Constant monitoring is a necessity with outdoor temperatures routinely exceeding 90°F. The monitoring solution has to log past data to meet government regulations, but also allow Quality Assurance Officials the ability to view current conditions. This is necessary so action can be taken if environmental conditions change. It also allows staff to react and save inventory or fix a potential problem.

Monitoring Temperature and Humidity

Posted on: February 5th, 2011 by Matt No Comments

An array of instruments is available for monitoring temperature and humidity in high and low-tolerance environments.

Monitoring temperature and/or humidity conditions is an essential ingredient of a wide range of quality assurance applications. There are many common methodological errors, however, in ways that this task is approached that either compromise quality standards or add unnecessary time and expense to the monitoring task. Insufficient calibration of temperature and humidity monitoring instruments is high on the list of problematic areas. Mismatching technology to the monitoring task at hand is another problematic area. This article will revisit technology trends in monitoring instrumentation, provide tips on calibration and discuss common methodological errors that quality managers should avoid.
